Make a New Year’s Resolution to Learn More About Removable Orthodontics

OrthodonticsWhen it comes to making a New Year's resolution, consider resolving to straighten your teeth and improve your smile using removable orthodontics. It is customary to make a resolution on New Year's, but most people never see the resolutions come true. This is because they tend to be very difficult to decide upon and even harder to follow through on. Something like getting in the best possible shape, for example, is ambiguous and difficult to quantify.

This is why we suggest making a resolution that is much easier to follow through on. While straightening your smile and improving your appearance may seem difficult on the surface, it is not. All that is necessary is to schedule a consultation with our office and follow through on the treatment plan. We will take care of everything else.

First steps

The first step towards improving the smile is visiting our office and discussing orthodontic options. We will conduct an examination and take x-rays before determining if straightening the teeth with removable orthodontics as a viable option. If it is, we will discuss next steps in treatment options.

Incredibly convenient

One reason that patients prefer this option to traditional braces is that we provide clear aligners that can come out when eating and for brushing teeth. This makes it possible to eat all of a person's favorite foods without worrying about damaging the orthodontics or getting food stuck in between them. It also gives a patient total control over the treatment process. For example, someone who has a major presentation at work, can remove their aligners before giving it. Someone who is getting married can simply not wear the aligners on their wedding day. This type of flexibility is unheard of and hence impossible to achieve with traditional braces. So long as the aligners are worn for around 20 to 22 hours a day, teeth will continue moving in the right direction, even if they are removed for specific events. It truly is convenient and easy.

Appearance

Anyone who does not wish to have their appearance impacted by metal braces should consider removable orthodontics instead. These aligners are virtually invisible because they are made of clear and durable plastic. As long as they and the teeth remain clean, they will stay invisible and difficult to see when worn. As an added benefit, as the teeth are straightened, the smile will look improved during the treatment process, rather than needing to wait to have braces off to see results.

Ideal for adults

Removal orthodontics are specifically ideal for adults. We recommend them for:

  • Busy professionals
  • Parents
  • Anyone on the job market
  • Brides and grooms
  • Grandparents
  • College students

Most adults can benefit from using this type of orthodontics to straighten their teeth and move their bite into the correct position. There are some bite issues that need to be addressed, which can be done by other methods like oral surgery but most people do not require exploring those options. If we think that's a possibility of needing additional treatment we will discuss it during the consultation.

Schedule an examination

If you are ready to take the steps necessary to improve your appearance, smile and oral health, now is an excellent time to schedule an appointment with our dental office. We can discuss how wearing removable orthodontics can be an excellent way to accomplish your goals. Also, we offer other cosmetic dentistry solutions. If we feel there is a benefit from taking steps like whitening your teeth or using dental veneers, we can make that recommendation as well. Call today to learn more and to get started.
