Roderick A. Garcia DMD an Albuquerque Cosmetic and Family Dentist, has provided quality dental care for his patients for over 36 years.
Among the many dental procedures Dr. Garcia provides for his patients, dental bridges is one of them.
Dental Bridges are fixed restorations that replace one or more missing teeth. Dental bridges utilize the adjacent teeth next to the missing teeth to anchor the bridge in place.
Dental Bridges can be placed in the front or back of the mouth and are made of different materials depending on the span of the bridge, cosmetic concerns, and bite issues such as clenching and grinding.
The materials used to fabricate the bridge may be solid zirconia, zirconia with porcelain fused to it, solid gold and silver, or gold and silver with porcelain fused to it.
For cosmetic placements, the design of the bridge and preparation of the teeth is critical as well as communication with the dental lab for excellent results to be achieved.
The adjacent teeth to the missing teeth are prepared as if they were receiving a crown with each abutment(teeth holding the bridge)
parallel to one another.
Cosmetically dental bridges can be very natural looking done correctly.
