Get These Money Saving Tips From Our Local Dentist Office

In our local dentist office, we help families to stay in excellent oral health.  By providing ongoing dental care and emergency treatments, we can help you to feel great at all times.  While working with patients, we are regularly asked questions about how they can save money on dental care so that treatments can stay affordable for the entire family.  We understand that most families live on a budget so here is how you can prevent the need for emergency dental care and keep your health care costs down:
  • Use a mouth guard. If you play sports, wear a mouth guard to protect yourself from getting a dental injury.  Sports accidents are a leading cause of tooth injuries throughout the U.S.   Fortunately, they can typically be prevented by wearing a mouth guard.  This is a simple way to control health care cost because it allows you to avoid needing a more expensive dental restoration.
  • Receive regular care.  The best way to keep your health care cost down is to receive care on a regular basis.  While this may seem counterintuitive, preventative care helps you to stay healthy so that you don’t need emergency dental care.  In our dentist office, we recommend that you have your teeth cleaned at least twice a year since this allows us to remove harmful plaque and bacteria.  It also gives us the opportunity to identify any cavities or infections.  When they are caught early, the treatment is less intense and less expensive.  If you want to save money, schedule a dental exam.
  • Fluoride.  You can help to strengthen your teeth by using fluoride.  We provide fluoride treatments in our dental office, and they are recommended for children on an annual basis.  You can receive a similar benefit by brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste every day.  This is an excellent way to strengthen your teeth and prevent cavities from occurring.
  • Dental insurance.  If you have a medical insurance plan, but no dental coverage, you can purchase a policy to cover you and your family.  They are typically very affordable, and you can buy one online. If you want a recommendation, we can give you one in our dentist office.  If you already have a plan make sure to compare policies on an annual basis to ensure that you are receiving the best possible coverage for what you are willing to pay in premiums.
  • Dental savings plans.  You can receive a discount on your dental care by purchasing a dental savings plan.  This will give you treatments at a reduced rate.  At times, insurance companies won’t pay for more intensive procedures, and this is a good way to get the care that you need at a reduced rate.  You can even buy one to help with orthodontics.
If you need additional assistance in planning for how to pay for dental care, let us know.  We can provide you with information on financing or discuss payment plans in further detail.
